1. Develop soft packaging film of environmentally friendly materials. At present, the world recognized PET as an environmentally friendly material, it can be recycled and reused. With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, the shelf life of supermarket food will be increased, and the use of BOPET will also be increasing, which is conducive to recycling. The three-layer co-extruded and heat-sealed BOPET film will soon enter the market to meet the requirements for the storage life of soft packaging.
2. The development of flexible packaging materials to thin type. Reducing cost and saving resources is a new subject of soft packaging industry in the new century. Thin film is put forward under the condition of maintaining the original use requirements, that is, all packaging performance indicators fully meet the requirements of food packaging. There are three main ways to achieve this goal. The first is to develop new materials, such as BOPEN produced by polyethylene terephthalate (polyethylene terephthalate and ethylene ester condensation polymer) as raw material for PET, which can be increased by 3.5 times. The thickness of BOPET film produced by this material is one third less than that of BOPET film, which can meet the requirements of BOPET film. The second is the use of nano-inorganic and polymer composite materials to produce flexible packaging film, which is also a leading science and technology discipline in the new century. Nano-inorganic and polymer composite materials can improve the strength and toughness of the film at the same time, and play an important role in the thinning of soft plastic packaging. Experiments show that the strength and toughness of nano-inorganic and polymer composite films are increased by 50% (compared with those of pure polymer films). The third is to use multi-layer composite packaging materials to improve the comprehensive performance of flexible packaging materials, reduce the use of plastic in flexible packaging, reduce the environment and save resources. Bidirectionally oriented polypropylene film is now introduced into China with a five-layer co-extrusion production line. In the future, it will affect the market and use of BOPP in China.
3. The development of flexible plastic packaging film towards special functional direction. High barrier composite materials will continue to increase market capacity. High barrier film, which has the advantages of simple processing, strong oxygen barrier and steam barrier, and longer shelf life, will be the mainstream of supermarket food soft packaging in the future. Microporous film used for packaging fresh vegetables and fruits is also the direction of film market development. At present, a lot of equipments have been introduced in China, including those from Japan and Korea, as well as those made in China. I believe that in the near future, we can enter our life and fully realize the advantages of functional film in food packaging.
